Preparing for the Journey: Pray for Us

Specific prayer requests for us and our ministry.

Liverpool has been an important port city in Britain for over 800 years and the Royal Albert Dock is possibly the most famous part of the docks in recent memory. This beautiful dock was operational for 125 years and only closed in the early 1980's. Now it functions mostly as a tourist attraction with various restaurants and stores housed in the old brick walls. In its heyday cargo was moved in huge bulk through these docks and then throughout the country.

However much our son Silas would like to, we're not planning on taking a boat to Liverpool. We will not be arriving at the Royal Albert Dock to unload our belongings. But in this season of waiting and anticipation, it sometimes feels like we're getting ready for a long voyage. Being at the dock, is an important time of preparation, making sure we've got everything we need.

Of all the important and necessary things that we're doing to prepare for our ministry in Liverpool, prayer is at the top of the list. Forgetting to pray would be like leaving your fresh water on shore before making the transatlantic journey. Not to invite others to pray with and for you would be like forgetting to assemble a crew for your ship.

We believe that prayer has power, that our God answers us when we call out to him. We have seen first hand how the Lord has worked in our through prayer and want to continue to seek him as we proceed. We also want to partner with you in prayer and want your prayers to be well informed.

I plan to write regular ministry updates with relevant and specific prayer requests, but these are a good starting point for the next 7 months as we make the final preparations before our departure. Thank you for praying for us!

  • Pray for the hearts of our children to continue to be shaped by the gospel and for them to share in our passion for the lost

  • Pray that we would be sensitive to the Spirit and trust in God's plan

  • Pray for our list of potential supporters, that the Lord would prepare their hearts to give exactly what he puts on their hearts

  • Pray that we would raise the necessary funds

  • Pray that there would be no issues with the visa process

  • Pray for wisdom in what of our possessions to move to Liverpool

  • Pray for our extended families to continue to have peace
